Spring Break 2019 Recap!

As I write this I'm already back at school, but I am very thankful for the break. I was able to go home and spend time with family and friends and get some much needed rest before the last stretch of school. As much as I would have liked to, I did not sit around and binge-watch Netflix all week. That sounds like a great break, but I made sure to keep myself busy.

My parents and I continued to have afternoon tea and shortbread, you can read about it in this post, and the shortbread shown in that post saw us through the week. The three of us had to restrain ourselves from eating too many at once!

I also made sure to spend time with friends who I don't see often because I go to school out of state. A friend and I usually go get coffee together to catch up, and this time we went to a place downtown called Espresso Fino. It was a little hole-in-the-wall kind of place with cool, colorful decor. I was talked into getting a mocha, and it was actually really good! Just sweet enough for me.

A couple of other friends and I always like to go get boba tea together. If you don't know what boba tea is, it's a drink that originated in Taiwan. They usually have a tea or milk base and have flavors like matcha green tea, thai tea, and others. You can get them with toppings like tapioca "boba" pearls or jellies, and it is normally served iced but some places offer blended boba tea which has the consistency of a milkshake. I spent a lot of my money on coffee and boba tea this week, so I was inspired to create some fun illustrations showing a few of my favorite boba tea flavors.

I also had the opportunity to do college graduation photos for a friend's older sister! I was nervous at first, but the shoot went well. We met downtown and walked around to find cool, colorful murals.

Overall, I had a great break. I had time with family, spent too much money on coffee and boba tea with my friends, relaxed, and even went to a NM United soccer game. I have a little bit of worry about finishing my semester strong, but I trust that everything will work out fine and I will be off for the summer in no time!

Thanks for reading!

xx, Hannah
