Here is the second installment of my Israel images! The last post (check it out here if you haven't!) showed a bit of my time in Jaffa, Jerusalem, and some surrounding areas. After we finished touring that area, we moved on to the Galilee region. We visited the fortress of Masada and the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee, the Mediterranean Sea, Cesarea Philippi, Nazareth, Capernaum, and even got close to the border with Gaza and were able to spend a morning with a resident of that area and hear her experience. At the end of the trip, we went back to Jerusalem and were able to see the Holocaust museum and memorial in Israel, which is called Yad Vashem.

All of these photos are also very dear to me, and I hope that they transport you to a new place and show you something new. Like I said in the last post, I couldn't possibly share my full experience in just a few blog posts, but if this is something you all are interested in, please let me know and I'll share more!

I hope you enjoy, thanks for reading and looking at my images!

xx, Hannah

The fortress of Masada

ree
If the weather was nicer, we could have hiked to the top of Masada. Everyone in my group took the tram, but the people taking the hike looked like ants!

ree
We had the privilege to take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, we had awesome weather and it was so beautiful!

ree
The singular photo I have of myself from this trip.

ree
One evening we visited an olive plantation right on the edge of the sea. It was so calm and peaceful!

ree
Cesarea Philippi and one of the springs that feeds the Jordan river.

ree
The Dead Sea on a stormy day. Strangely enough, my classmates swam anyways even though it was January! I opted out, but I'm not worried since I'm hoping to go back one day!

ree
A new friend I made on the trip did swim in the Dead Sea, I took this photo from the shore.

ree
Exterior of a cathedral in Nazareth

ree
Interior of the cathedral, the architecture and craftsmanship that goes into these buildings is unbelievable!

ree
This was our tour guide when we visited a kibbutz community close to the Gaza border. The people who live in these areas have so much courage and resilience, even with the threat of daily rocket attacks.

ree
The community was completely encased with a tall, barbed-wire fence. Aside from this, every building had bomb shelters attached.

ree
Going through Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum and memorial in Jerusalem, was very emotional but I also fell in love with the architecture of the museum.

ree
There is an exhibit there called the Hall of Names. It's a circular room with the walls lined floor to ceiling with these binders. They contain the names of every person who died in the Holocaust. This is just a small section.

ree
We were able to visit Capernaum, the hometown of Jesus. This is the ruins of the synagogue.

ree
We also visited the Mount of Beatitudes and read the passage of Scripture that Jesus preached there, Matthew 5:3-12

ree
This photo is still my wallpaper on my laptop! This was taken at Cesarea on the Mediterranean Sea.

ree
At the end of the trip, we spent our last days exploring Tel Aviv and eating amazing food!

ree

ree
At this point I should just try chai lattes wherever I go!

ree
This is the amazing group of students and professors I traveled with at the top of Mt. Precipice. I'm over to the left, in the gray sweater in between the two people with blue jackets!
